The North Korean regime has vowed revenge against the United States, after the UN imposed a series of harsh financial sanctions on the secretive country.
The sanctions were handed down due to North Korea’s ongoing missile launch program, and galvanized by the test firing of a suspected Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) in recent weeks.
A statement released by North Korea’s Central News agency read: “We will not put our self-defensive nuclear deterrent on the negotiating table, and will never take a single step back from strengthening our nuclear might”.
The new raft of sanctions will hit North Korea’s exports hard, to the tune of £770m.
