North Korea has issued a stern warning to the US, stating that any naval blockade would be a reckless action and tantamount to war.
The regime added that it would take ‘merciless self-defence’ measures if the US enforces a blockade.
A North Korean spokesperson said “Should the United States and its followers try to enforce the naval blockade against our country, we will see it as an act of war and respond with merciless self-defensive counter-measures as we have warned repeatedly.
“
Though a blockade is not expected to occur in the imminent future, US President Donald Trump and advisors have repeatedly said that a military option might be the only way to deal with North Korea.
