North Korea’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Ri Yong Ho, has claimed that US President Donald Trump has ‘declared war’ against the Pyongyang regime.
The sensational claim comes less than 48 hours after US air assets, including long-range B-1B bombers escorted by F-15 fighter jets, flew across international waters off the North Korean coast, in a clear display of military might.
Seen as an act of ‘provocation’, North Korea responded by saying that it’s now entitled to shoot down aircraft, even if they do not invade the country’s territorial airspace.
This is the latest in a series of verbal confrontations between the US and North Korea in the last few months.
North Korea remains engaged in a nuclear weapon development program, despite ongoing sanctions imposed by the UN.
