North West facing the prospect of further flooding as Met Eireann issue a yellow status rainfall warning in the region




The North West of the country could et experience more flooding over the next 24 hours as heavy rainfall is expected in the region over night.

According to Met Éireann who have issued a yellow status rainfall warning for Co Donegal, it is expected that further spells of heavy rain will affect the northwest of the country through today and tomorrow.

The national forecaster also said there could be up to 25 to 40mm of rainfall in Co Donegal.

The warning is also in place for counties Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
