“Not democratic” – Sinn Fein supporters are furious Mary Lou McDonald will severely discipline Sinn Fein TDs who vote against abortion on demand up to 12 weeks

There’s been a severe backlash against the newly elected leader of Sinn Fein, Mary Lou McDonald after she threatened all Sinn Fein TDs that they will face a severe punishment if they don’t vote for abortion on demand up to 12 weeks.

However Sinn Fein supporters are not happy with her move. Many many Sinn Fein supporters are staunch nationals but also staunchly pro life and they are making their voices heard.

Speaking on the week in politics on Sunday night, McDonald alluded to severe repercussions to any Sinn Fein TD who doesn’t vote for abortion on demand up to 12 weeks.

Notably Sinn Fein’s Peadar Toibin from Co. Meath has had the guts to constantly say that he believes the unborn child has a right to life and will vote to save the Eighth in the referendum on the Eighth Amendment, will be in the firing line, as such.

Peadar has been outspoken in his support for unborn children and has said that he definitely will vote to save the Eighth.

It’s understood that many Sinn Fein supporters have rang in and complained as well as emailed and voiced their discern on social media.

The Eighth Amendment is the amendment that states the unborn child has an equal right to life as its mother.
