Number fiasco: National Lottery issues statement to explain number mix up during last night’s draw

The National Lottery have released a statement to clarify a situation that arose during Saturday’s lotto plus 1 draw.

It is understood bosses at lottery headquarters were forced to issue the statement after a number of players took to social media to question the draw after they noticed a ball displaying both the numbers 33 and 38 during the live draw which was aired live on RTE One.

According to RTE News the National Lottery released the following statement saying: “A brief reflection of light during filming caused an illusion and some players to think there were two numbers on ball 38.”

“This was not the case. The weight and size of all Lotto balls, and the numbers, are strictly checked in advance of each draw.”

“This process, as well as the draw itself, is independently observed by our auditors KPMG.”

The fiasco has seen social media being flooded with awash of comments questioning the legitimacy of the lotto draws with many claiming the draw was fixed.
