Two nuns have pleaded with their flock for ‘forgiveness and prayers’ after being caught embezzling over $500k donated for tuition and school fees.
The sisters were allegedly taking donation money and lodging it into an account different to the one originally intended. The incident happened at a church in Torrance, California. It is understood that the nuns have been operating the scheme for at least ten years.
A subsequent investigation uncovered a ‘pattern of trips and casinos’ as the wayward nuns flocked to Vegas to try their holy luck.
