Members of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) are set to stage a lunchtime protest at St. Patrick’s Community Hospital, Carrick-on-Shannon, tomorrow.
INMO members have overwhelmingly voted in favor of industrial action to protest against a marked decline in staffing levels.
The INMO has quoted a number of reasons for the protest, including claims that the HSE have failed to recruit additional nursing staff, and also the HSE’s failure to accept and understand the inherent risks to patients due to the staff shortages.
The organization has urged members of the public to join their lunchtime protest at 1.15 tomorrow afternoon.
