Orange status weather warning in place for 14 counties as Ireland braces itself for Storm Eleanor




Met Eireann have issued an Orange status weather warning for 14 counties on Tuesday as the country is set to be battered by winds reaching 130km/h.

The warning which will be in affect from 5pm this evening comes as the national forcaster has said Storm Eleanor will sweep across the country on Tuesday evening.

Although the storm is expected to pass quickly Met Eireann have issued the Orange status weather warning for the following counties: Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, south Galway, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary.

Meanwhile a yellow status weather warning be in place for the rest of the country as winds are expected to reach between 60km/h to 80km/h in most places.
