Met Eireann has again issued an orange weather warning, as persistent heavy fog will create hazardous driving conditions this evening and overnight.
The counties most affected will be Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Offaly, Meath, and Westmeath.
Lowest temperatures tonight will be 4 to 8C, with dry conditions overall until dawn.
Heavy rain and high winds are forecast for tomorrow, Friday, with the south and west the areas most at risk. It will remain mild though, with temperatures of between 9 and 13C in fresh, southeasterly winds.
