The Midlands, West, and Northeast of the country are particularly at risk of severe thunderstorms this Bank Holiday Monday, as warm and humid conditions are likely to bring heavy downpours this afternoon.
The weather alert kicked in at noon, and it applies to the following areas; All of Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Offaly, Westmeath, and Meath.
The alert will remain in place until 9pm tonight.
