According to various reports organisers of the next major protest against the Irish Water charges have come up against a rather unexpected problem.

It is understood that organisers are asking want to be protesters to bring their newly issued Irish Water bills to the Garden of Remembrance in Dublin so they can be put in the bin. However the plan has seemingly backfired as it seems that many people have not yet received their bills.

The news was however did not deter Socialist TD Ruth Coppinger who says organisers will come up with an alternative. She said: “On Saturday, we may have to have mock bills, so people can practice what they’ll do when the real bill does come,” she said. “Most people haven’t received their bills. It has been very, very slow, certainly in the Dublin West area.”

Ms Coppinger said she would like to remind people that this Saturday’s protest will start at 2pm in the Garden of Remembrance.
