Oscar Pistorius’ defence lawyer said with his condition “he had to fight an intruder” – verdict Sept 11

Oscar Pistorius

Judge Thokozile Masipa has stated that on September 11th, Oscar Pistorius will know whether he’s going home a free man or whether he’s facing a hefty jail sentence.

The ParaOlympian athlete’s defense team told the court that Pistorius ‘had to “fight because he couldn’t flee” with his condition.

Reeva Steenkamp was reputedly using the bathroom of Pistorius’ apartment when (after a row), Pistorius supposedly heard an intruder, returned from the balcony, grabbed his gun and repeatedly shot through the bathroom door. He horrifically killed his girlfriend, she was alive for a matter of minutes. Pistorius carried the dying woman down the stairs as best he could.

The verdict will be known of September 11th, 2015.
