Outrageaous: App dubbed ‘Tinder for kids’ sparks fury among concerned parents and child protection experts

The latest dating app “Yellow” which has been dubbed ‘Tinder for kids’ has unsurprisingly drawn widespread outrage from Irish parents.

The app, officially marketed at teens over the age of 17, offers the chance to “make new friends” via online photo exchange.

Parents of younger children are in extreme despair, understanding that curious, internet savvy children are naturally interested in the youthful appearing app – placing them at severe risk of sexual exploitation.

CEO of Children at Risk in Ireland, Mary Flaherty said: It does seem to move very quickly from contact to sharing of quite explicit material.

“There is evidence that older people can pose as young people, and can lead to the selecting out of younger people to those that might wish to be sexual predators.”
