Those receiving social welfare payments will a €5 increase in their this week.
The increase which was made as part of last October’s Budget will now see jobseekers and other social welfare recipients receiving between €196 to €198 per week.
In announcement made over the weekend the Department of Social Protection confirmed that all bonus payments will implemented from this week onwards.
It is expected that a total of 1.3m social welfare recipients will recieve the bonus, whilst a further 560,000 dependants will be given the bonus.
Amongst those to receive the increase will be jobseekers, pensioners, lone parents, carers, those with disabilities, widows, and those currently on back to work schemes.
Meanwhile lone parents and parents receiving social welfare payments will only see increases between €10 to €20 per week.
