Over 20,000 people sign a petition calling on the IRFU to review Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding’s WhatsApp messages




Thousands of people have signed a petition in the past 24 hours that has called for the IRFU to review the evidence from the Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding rape trial.

The petition which comes after a day of protesting across the country, has already gained over 20,000 signatures in less than 24 hours.

In the petition which has been setup on Change.org, the Irish Rugby Football Union have been asked to review the conduct of the two men who were aquitted of all charges on Wednesday.

The petition which is actively calling on the IRFU to make their decision be known to the public as to whether or not both players will be reinstated to the Irish setup.

It is thought the petition which has been setup be two men and two women has requested that the board review the messages that were read out during the trial.

The petition also requests that the IRFU strongly consider dropping the two players in light of the alleged WhatsApp messages they are said to have exchanged.

It is expected the petition will reach its target goal of 25,000 signatures on Friday.
