Over 500 jobs to be created in East Cork as Ikea looks set to open second full Irish store 




There was some more good news on the jobs front as the Swedish furniture giant Ikea has announced plans to open a second full store in the Republic of Ireland. 

According to The Irish Examiner the furniture giant which already has 650 people working at its Dublin base will create a further 500 jobs in Carrigtwohill East Cork by building a second store. 

It is expected the news of the popular brands decision to open a second full Irish store will come as boost for the region with consumers expected to come from Cork and it’s surrounding areas which will boost overall business in the area. 

The paper claims that management at the popular chain had been scouting in the area for over a year in order to pick the appropriate location. 

Ikea already have stores located in both Carrickmines and Ballymun Dublin.
