It is expected that around 1,500 people will descend on Firhouse Dublin this afternoon as a new scientologist centre will be officially opened this afternoon.
Amongst the small contingent of Irish scientologists expected to arrive at the centre, there will also be hundreds of people from the UK, and central Europe as well as the United States attending the event.
Gardaí have also revealed they have set up a small security detail ahead of the event which will be fronted by leader of the Church of Scientology, David Miscavige.
