Pan Gate: Gardai called in to ‘help’ during the recent bread shortage

The recent cold snap has seemingly caused somewhat of a panic nationwide over the past few days, particularly when it comes to people stocking up on supplies as a number of supermarkets and shops across the country have reported a shortage of food supplies, with bread being the most sought after item.

In what has now become a joke on social media the recent sliced pan crisis has led to a number of memes, videos and even adverts being posted online.

But now it seems the Gardai have gotten in on the act as shelves across the country have been left empty.

In a tweet which has been shared numerous of times on social media, our very own boys in blue have been seen poking fun at the recent shortage.

The rather humerous tweet was posted on the Garda Traffic official Twitter page on Tuesday, when one member of the public suggested that the Brennan’s truck needed a Garda escort in order to avoid unnecessary trouble.

To which the Gardai replied: “We always make sure today’s bread is today’s Harry.”
