The weather in Dublin was glorious yesterday, and even though today’s wasn’t as good the people still poured out in their thousands at Knock Shrine, Co. Mayo.
Some people traveled from as early as 2am to catch a glimpse of Pope Francis while he was at the enormous stage beside the basilica.
Aer Lingus flew the Pontiff from Dublin to Knock airport where he arrived to cheers, waves and welcomes from thousands who packed into the small town.
He then flew back to Dublin to celebrate today’s mass in the Phoenix Park with 500,000 people attending.
