The Minister for Education Richard Bruton has said parents must check with their child’s school to see if they are to re-open this morning.
Mr Bruton’s announcement comes after Storm Emma battered the country at the tail end of last week, which ultimately resulted in school closures across the country.
Speaking on RTE’s The Week In Politics programme, Mr Bruton said he fully expects most schools to open this morning, although it is ultimately down to the schools themselves if they choose to re-open.
Mr Bruton added school principals will have the final say in regards to when their school re-opens, therefore parents must contact their child’s school to see if they are to open.
