NHS Lothian have confirmed that a patient who has recently returned from West Africa is being tested for Ebola.
The patient is currently in isolation at the regional infectious diseases unit at the city’s Western General Hospital.
The current Ebola outbreak began in March 2014, and so far more than 20,000 people have become infected and over 8,000 have perished.
