One of the country’s biggest banks Permanent TSB have issued an apology to over 300 customers after an IT error led to a small number of mortgage accounts being paid twice over the weekend.
The bank say they have since corrected the system error and said they deeply apologise to those affected.
A Permanent TSB spokesperson said: “The bank has resolved the issue and all mortgage accounts which were affected have had the additional payment returned to the relevant account.”
“The bank apologises for any inconvenience caused.”
