Pet dog found three years after it goes missing

bull

An Irishman received some truly unexpected news when he got a phone call to say that his Staffordshire bull terrier Mon had been located three years after it went missing.

The dog had ran off from the back garden of the house in 2012, and was found last week by workers at Yorkgate train station, in Belfast.

The workers took the dog to a veterinarian clinic, where it was scanned for a microchip. Fortunately for dog and ownwr, Eoin Markey, Mon had indeed been microchipped so staff at the clinic were able to contact Mr. Markey straight away with the news.

Microchipping is currently a legal requirement in Northern Ireland.
