Peter Casey: Tubridy was very unprofessional, patronising and insulting towards me on the Late Late

Free speech activist Peter Casey has lashed out hard against RTE front man Ryan Tubridy.

Tubridy has been widely criticised on social media after what has been described as an appalling interview of the Derry man who came second in the Presidential election with 342,000 first preference votes.

Peter was eloquent, polite and friendly – but appeared to be completely ambushed by a crew of travellers in the crowd appearing to want his head on a platter.

Peter spoke to Niall Boylan on 4fm today and said about his Late Late Show interview:
“The biggest challenge was trying to get my wife under control, she was so annoyed. She thought it was an absolute disgrace. She was fit to be tied.”

Peter said that Tubridy said they’d only be talking about the traveller issue for a couple of minutes:
“We said we were going to spend maybe three to four minutes, but absolutely cut it off at four, on the traveller situation. I said that’s fine and I want to make clear my position so people understand that I’m absolutely not a racist.”

“I was surprised and taken aback. It shocked me to be quite honest. I really felt that he was supposed to be impartial and professional.

“I’ve no problem getting attacked by the audience. I’d people before telling me I should pull out because this had been a set-up.”

Peter told Boylan that it was “without a shadow of a doubt” a complete and utter ambush and setup.

“It was such a big contrast to the reasonable, friendly person in the green room.”, Peter said about Tubridy.
