Petition launched for Varadkar to intervene in alleged abduction of three Irish children taken to North Africa against their mother’s wishes

A petition has been set up to pressure Taoiseach Leo Varadkar into intervening in the case of the alleged abduction of three Irish children who have were taken to North Africa against their mother’s wishes by their Algerian father, Kamel Fekkar, in July 2015.

Gina Davis, a mother of six, has received no support from the government in her fight to bring her three children, seven-year-old twins Hamza and Hamila and their sister 10-year-old Zaineb, who are all Irish citizens home.

Bizarrely the government, which vested an inordinate amount of time, energy and political capital in securing the return of 21-year-old Ibrahim Halawa to Ireland after being detained in a crackdown on the radical Muslim Brotherhood supporters in Egypt, have shown no inclination to intervene in the case of these young children.

Neither Children’s Minister Zappone or Taoiseach Varadkar are yet to make any efforts what so ever to secure the safe return of these Irish children.
