Plenty of rain and thunderstorms forecast for the coming week – two weather warnings in place

There will be little in the way of summer weather in the week ahead, if the forecast is to be believed.

Plenty of rain, and the possibility of thunderstorms, will blight the country as we return to work tomorrow.

There are two weather warnings in place: An orange caution will come into effect at midnight tonight for Cork and Kerry, and will remain in place until 1am on Tuesday morning.

A yellow weather warning is also in place for Galway, Mayo and Sligo, where heavy rain is expected.

We are in for an unsettled few days, though early indications seem to point to finer weather towards the end of the week.
