Police chief constable of Manchester Police releases statement confirming death toll of suspected terrorist attack and urges residents to remain vigilant




The police chief constable of Greater Manchester Police Ian Hopkins, has just released a brief statement regardig the incident at Manchester Arena this evening.

In the short statement the police chief confirmed that 19 people have been killed in the explosion and a further 59 have been injured in the incident which occurred short after 10:40pm on Monday evening.

Speaking to the British press the chief constable confirmed that the 50 injured victim’s of the explosion are being treated at six different hosiptals in greater Manchester.

He also confirmed that police are treating explosion as a terrorist incident, but are awaiting further information.

Constable Hopkins also reminded Manchester residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspected suspicious activity if it should arise.

He also urged people to avoid Manchester Arena as police investigations are still ongoing.
