Police investigating the murder of six year old Alesha McPhail, have confirmed that a youth under the age of 18 has been arrested in connection with the little girl’s murder.
The news comes after little Alesha’s body was discovered on the grounds of an abandoned hotel in Rothesay, which is located on the Isle of Bute.
Although police have released little information in regards to the arrest, investigating officers have confirmed that a teenager is being questioned over Alesha’s death.
The young girl was tragically found dead on Monday morning after she went missing from her grandmother’s home in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police say they arrested the teenager on Wednesday and he is currently being questioned, they also appealed to the public for further information despite the major development in the case.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area on the night/morning in question to come forward and contact them.
