Police in Costa Rica arrest 22-yr-old Columbian man after he issued a threat claiming he was going to kill US popstar Ariana Grande during a live concert




Police in Costa Rica have arrested a man after he issued a threat online claiming that he was going to kill US pop star Ariana Grande at concert in the country over the weekend.

Authorities say the named as Caicedo Lopez, a 22-year-old Colombian national, was arrested after they tracked the alarming message to his IP address.

Mr Lopez is understood to have made the threat just hours before the concert, which took place on Sunday night.

Local media say the discovery was made after security services for the singer were made aware of the letter which was written in Arabic, they immediately contacted police who launched an investigation to track him down and discovered his location after they traced the origin of the message to one of his smartphones which was located in Los Colegios de Moravia.

The threat to the singer who has a huge global fan base which mainly consists of young children and teenagers comes less than two months after the Manchester Arena bombing which claimed the lives of 22 innocent people who were attending her concert.
