Police in the North have launched an inveestigation after a 25-year-old man was badly assaulted in Newtownabbey.
The PSNI say the victim was targeted in the Mayfield Village area in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Meanwhile Detective Constable Ross Olphert issued an appeal saying: “I would appeal to anyone who saw a disturbance in the area at approximately 1am and may have witnessed this assault or anyone who has information about this incident to contact detectives at Antrim.”
