Police in the UK have said they may soon allow female, Muslim officers to wear full face veils despite the fact that is completely obscures their identity.
West Midlands Police in an effort to our PC even the most progressive police forces has said that it has “no barriers” to officers wearing burkas on duty.
The announcement came as part of the forces new recruitment drive which is primarily focused on increasing the diversity of its officers.
The hijab which cover most of the head and the hair but not the face is already approved for officers on duty to wear by the London Metropolitan Police and Police Scotland however, West Midlands Police will be first to allow Muslim woman police officers to cover their entire face on duty.
This will make the UK one of the only countries, including Muslim majority countries that permits its police to wear the Burka.
