University College Dublin will soon see 170 of its toilets changed from simply “men” and “women” to “gender neutral”.
The change means that students and staff who claim they’re transgender, gender neutral, gender fluid or non-binary gender will no longer have to use the regular “men” and “women” labelled bathroom facilities.
They’ll now be able to go into toilets where anyone who says they’re transgender, gender neutral, gender fluid or non-binary gender can go – under the title of “gender neutral toilet”.
It’s also understood that students will soon be able to officially have their names changed from men to women or women to men, whichever they claim to be, on official award certificates such as a degree.
What’s your thoughts on such toilets? Do you think they’re needed or are they too politically correct? Tell us in the Facebook post comments.
