Over 295,000 homes and businesses are still without power this morning the ESB have revealed.
The company who have now confirmed that they will be recruiting extra work crews from Northern Ireland, UK and France, have said it will take a number of days before all homes and businesses will have electricity supplies restored.
Speaking about the issue an ESB spokesperson has said the South, South East, South West and parts of the Midlands are the worst affected.
They also urged customers to be patient as the extent of the damage caused by storm Ophelia is quite severe.
The public have also been warned not to approach any fallen power lines as many lines will still be live even though they are down, the ESB are urging anyone who comes across a fallen line to contact them immediately.
