The former Taoiseach and Fianna Fail leader Bertie Ahern is said to be considering a bid to become the next President of Ireland.
Mr Ahern who was rumoured to run for the prestigious position earlier this year has confirmed he is highly interested in becoming President.
According to his brother and former Dublin Maurice Ahern the former Taoiseach will consider running it current President Michael D Higgins vacates there role in 2018.
It is not yet known whether or not President Higgins will seek another term in office.
