President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin have a “positive meeting” at G20 summit

The President of the United States Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart President Vladimir Putin met for the first time today at the G20 summit.

Arguably the two most powerful men in the world had a positive encounter and agreed to a ceasefire in war-torn Syria.

Rex Tillerson, the US Secretary of State said that both President Trump and President Putin enjoy their first meeting and will meet again.

He went on to say:
“As to the nature of the two hours and 15 minutes, let me characterise: the meeting was very constructive, the two leaders I would say, connected very quickly,” said Mr Tillerson, adding “there was a very clear positive chemistry between the two”.

It’s understood that the two men spoke for quite some time about the allegations of Russian interfering in last year’s US Election where Donald Trump convincingly beat Hillary Clinton.
