General John Nicolson, the top US military commander in Afghanistan has claimed that the decision to drop the largest conventional bombs ever used in combat was tactical and is the start of a plan to defeat Islamic State once and for all.
Up to 36 ISIS fighters were killed in the strike in the eastern province of Nangarhar, with no reports of any civilian casulaties.
The bomb dropped is nicknmaed the “mother of all bombs” and is practically as strong as a nuclear warhead without the devastation afterwards.
