President Trump appears to endorse police brutality during speech

United States President Donald Trump appeared to endorse victimizing detainees and implicitly condone police brutality during a speech.

Speaking on illegal immigration and related law enforcement issues, Mr. Trump said that officers should not be ‘too nice’ when conducting arrests.

He continued to say “Like when you guys put somebody in the car and you’re protecting their head, you know, the way you put their hand over, like, don’t hit their head and they’ve just killed somebody, don’t hit their head, I said: ‘You can take the hand away, okay?”

The apparent endorsement of legal violence was later rejected by several law enforcement agencies, in an attempt to distance themselves from the controversy.
