The EU is pushing ahead with plans for a full-fledged super-state army and united foreign policy to serve the interests of the Franco-German dominated bloc.

Politico EU reports that German Chancellor Angela Merkel has once again reiterated her agreement with French President Emmanuel Macron in his calls for the creation of an EU army.

The Permanent European Security Cooperation Organization, which Ireland signed up to last year, was a key stepping stone towards the creation of a conglomerated EU military.

While President Macron has insisted that when the EU establishes its super-state military force it will compliment NATO, but earlier Macron had stated an EU army was necessary to protects against Russia, China and the U.S, NATO’s leading member.

The United State has been the guarantor of European security since the Second World War and still foots most of the bill for European security.

Macron’s comments understandably provoked the ire of US President Trump who tweeted

“Emmanuel Macron suggests building its own army to protect Europe against the U.S., China and Russia. But it was Germany in World Wars One & Two – How did that work out for France? They were starting to learn German in Paris before the U.S. came along. Pay for NATO or not!”

The UK has long been a major opponent of a single EU foreign policy and the creation of an EU army.

Consequently, what’s left of Ireland’s traditional policy of military neutrality is likely to disappear as once the UK leaves the EU in March 2019 the EU elite will be able to continue with this agenda free from any relevant opposition.
