The US President Donald Trump has said that he and his administration will decide on how to respond to the latest suspected chemical attack in Syria, over the next 24 to 48 hours.
President Trump who has condemned the attack by calling it “atrocious” and “horrible”, revealed that he and his cabinet will decide the appropriate action to respond to the attack which killed 40 innocent people in the opposition town of Douma.
Speaking before the US press on Monday, President Trump said that those involved in the sickening attack will pay a price.
The US President also said that the US government are very concerned about what happened and that an atrocious act like this cannot be allowed to happen.
President Trump’s comments came after it was reported that US government officials revealed that they were weighing options to strike Syrian government targets.
The US President also refused to rule out the possibility of Russian involvement in the attack as he said Vladimir Putin may have had a role to play in the attack.
He also stated that the US government will get to the bottom of who was involved, by saying: “If it’s the Russians, if it’s Syria, if it’s Iran, if it’s all of them together, we’ll figure it out”.
