Price of a barrel of oil shoots up to $80 amidst international tensions over Iran

The price of a barrel of crude oil has surpassed $80 for the first time since 2014.

The price of oil sank to a nadir of $30 at the start of 2016 due to over-supply, but tensions over Iran have given rise to a steep increase in prices in recent weeks.

Motorists here and elsewhere are likely to feel the price rise at the pumps very soon.
