The Prince of Wales’ trip begins on Monday in Belfast, with his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall joining him on Tuesday.
The couple will then travel down the country to the Republic of Ireland for an official state visit on Wednesday.
This visit was requested by the Government and is occurring around the same time as when the Prince and his wife visited the area where his great uncle Lord Mountbatten died, last year.
Lord Mountbatten was murdered in 1979 by the IRA.
There is a positive reception to the announcement of the visit, with a spokesperson stating that the visit will promote “understanding of their respective heritage and celebrating the best that each has to offer”.
