Project Runway: Government officially backs DAA’s plan to build €320m runway at Dublin Airport 




Plans for a brand new runway at Dublin Airport have been given a boosts after the Taoiseach confirmed that the Cabinet will fully support the Dublin Airport Authority’s plan.

Announcing the Government’s support for the project anybody has been put on hold since 2007, the Taoiseach said the building of the runway is highly important and it will actively provide a major boost for the economy, tourism and business.

Although the project was submitted back in 2007, the DAA were unable to proceed with 3,110 metre runway due to a change in the overall economy.

However plans for the runway were re-submitted back in 2016, and on Tuesday it officially received Government backing.

It is expected the new project will cost in the region of €320 million.
