Public Sector Pay recommendation report to be unveiled by Paschal Donohoe later today

The news some 300,000 Governmental employees regarding pay increase will be officially unveiled later today as the Public Service Pay Commission report will be published after it has been reviewed by the Cabinet.

The detailed report which is likely to recommend a number of options that will see the current Lansdowne Road Agreement re-negotiated or possibly scrapped will be unveiled by the Minister for Public Expenditure Paschal Donohoe.

Although the Government have reiterated their stance by claiming that there will be no pay increase for public sector workers until September 2018, it is believed that the cabinet are willing to restructure the current agreement in order for it to close the gap between private and public sector workers.

It is also believed that the cabinet are eager to get negotiations underway with union bosses as soon as possible with talks expected to begin next Monday at the earliest.
