Police in India have arrested and charged a 28-yr-old man after he allegedly raped his 8-month-old baby.
The horrifying act of child abuse which occurred in New Delhi, India, has shocked the world after it was reported on state media.
According to reports it is believed the 28 year old, who was a cousin of the innocent infant, carried out the sick and brutal attack whilst the infant’s parents were at work.
Meanwhile police have confirmed the child has since been left in critical condition in hospital and is on life support following the rape as she sustained a number of internal injuries.
It is understood the horrific attack was discovered when the baby girl’s father returned home to find her heavily bleeding whilst lying on the bed.
A spokesperson for the New Delhi police has since confirmed the man who carried out the attack has been detained under section 6 of the criminal act, for the serious sexual assault of a child.
