Racism: Hurt feelings lead to Police investigation in UK

Police in the UK have launched an investigation after a person was offended by a Cool Running’s themed float in a parade in Aberaeron, Wales.

A complaint was lodged by a member of the public who accused those behind the float of racism as it was a group of white people who had painted their faces black in a tribute to the famous Jamaican bob-slaying team who competed in the 1988 Winter Olympics.

“Black face” as it called, is frowned upon as being crass and denigrating to people of colour.

No arrests have yet been made but police are taking the complaint seriously.
