There was good news for future parents today as planning permission has been officially granted to build the new National Maternity Hospital on the campus of St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin.
The €300m facility which will have 244 beds will replace the existing and aging maternity hospital at Holles St in Dublin.
Announcing the decision today the planing board said the hospitals planned location was more than acceptable as it would not have any significant impact on residents or traffic.
It is expected construction work will get underway in the next few months.
