Mars the company behind favourite chocolate brands such as Maltesers Teasers and Mars bar have issued a recall today after a number of its products have been found to contain Salmonella.
The company have issued a precautionary recall for a number of popular sweets including Maltesers and Galaxy counters after the harmful bacteria was discovered in one of the ingredients that make the bars.
The company say the following items have been recalled
Galaxy Counters: Product code: AW99G; Batch codes: 720B1SLO00, 720C1SLO00; Best before date: 13.05.2018
Maltesers Teasers: Product code: AX46E; Batch codes: 7720C1SLO00,720D2SLO00; Best before date: 13.05.2018.
A company spokesman said the recall is purely a precautionary measure and has urged the public to check for the above bar codes before consuming the product, they also say a full refund will be provided to customers after they return the contaminated products.
