Remnants of Labour party considering clawing their way back into Government

Just over a month after becoming almost extinct as a political force, what’s left of the Labour ranks may claw their way back into a minority-led Cabinet.

Despite having initially ruled out becoming part of any new government, the shattered remains of the Labour party appear to have had a change of heart.

Enda Kenny has been desperately attempting to stay in power since the election’s indecisive results. He has approached Labour and Independents seeking their support.

Talks between Fine Gael and Fianna Fail continue, with ‘some’ progress reportedly being made.

Not everyone in Labour relishes the idea of entering into a minority role under Fine Gael’s rule, however.

Labour’s Waterford TD David Cullinane has described such as a “nightmare scenario”.
