Lucinda Creighton’s party, Renua, is set to become The Liberal Democratic Party.
It is understood that the change was decided two weeks ago, during a meeting where Lucinda Creighton officially stood down as party leader.
Renua’s members believe that the party’s unsuccessful bid during the election was largely due to the misconception that Renua sported a right-leaning conservative ideology
The change in moniker is part of an effort to get the party on the right political track.
